Me: "What if I told you accessibility improvements are business metrics?"

Stakeholder: "Show me the data."

So we did.

The common misconception is that accessibility is a costly "nice-to-have" feature — a checkbox for legal compliance, not a driver of engagement or revenue.

But here's the truth: Accessibility improvements are often simply good UX. And good UX drives business results.

To prove this, we ran an A/B test on a high-traffic enterprise dashboard. We made a single component more accessible — better contrast, clearer focus states, larger click targets — and measured the impact on user engagement.

The result?

Version B (the accessible version) saw a 23.4% increase in average time on site, a 14.8% decrease in bounce rate, and a 12.3% increase in task completion.
